CutRoof collects nothing

There is no account, no sign-in, no analytics and no networking of any kind. Everything you type stays on your device.

What is collected

Nothing. Not your dimensions, not your job names, not your settings, not a device identifier, not a crash report, not usage statistics.

The app contains no networking code at all. It is not that we choose not to send anything: there is nothing in it that could.

What stays on your device

• Saved jobs: the name, address and dimensions you typed, stored on the device in the app's own storage.
• Settings: your conventions, default timber sections and rafter centres.

Deleting the app removes all of it. There is no copy anywhere else, because there is nowhere else for a copy to be.

Cut schedules you share

When you export a schedule as a PDF, iOS hands the file to whatever you pick: Mail, Messages, AirDrop, a printer, Files. That is your choice and your data, and it happens through Apple's own share sheet. CutRoof does not upload it and does not keep a copy beyond the job you saved.

What Apple sees

The app is free to download. If you buy the one-off unlock inside it, Apple processes that purchase and Apple's terms cover it rather than ours. We never see your payment details, and we are not told who bought it. The app asks your device whether the unlock has been paid for, and your device answers. Nothing about that leaves your phone, and buying the unlock does not change the answer above: we still collect nothing.

Apple also provides aggregate App Analytics to developers: figures such as how many people installed the app or how often it crashed. These are collected by Apple, are anonymous, are aggregated across everyone, and can be switched off in Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements on your iPhone. We see summaries. We never see you.

Third-party code

There is none. No frameworks, no SDKs, no trackers. The geometry, the drawings and the cut schedule are all the app's own code.

Children

CutRoof is a tool for carpenters and is not directed at children. Since it collects nothing from anybody, it collects nothing from children either.

Changes

If this ever stops being true, this page changes before the app does, and the change will say plainly what moved and why.
